Rumour: Samsung will detail Glass competitor, Galaxy Note 4 at IFA 2014

We’re almost certain that Samsung likes rumours and might even actively encourage them. They really don’t seem to spend much time putting them down, preferring to just let them propagate over the internet. The newest of these replicating rumours is that Samsung will be taking the wraps off of the Galaxy Note 4 at this year’s IFA conference that will take place in Berlin in September.

Samsung is, according to a report by The Korea Times, planning on unveiling two versions of the Galaxy Note 4 at the German event. One of these will apparently feature a curved OLED display while the other will be a more traditional flatscreen rendition of the phablet device.

As far as specs go, the Galaxy Note 4 is thought to feature a 5.7-inch display, with a 1,440p resolution. Waterproofing, 4K video recording and a Snapdragon 805 CPU are also thought to be on the cards but rumours have been predicting the Snapdragon 805 for a while and nothing has appeared anywhere so we wouldn’t be too surprised if it doesn’t turn up.

Also supposedly showing its face in September is Samsung’s take on Google’s Glass. Though no details on what the wearable tech from the South Korean company will feature were forthcoming, it will apparently run on their own Tizen operating system. That is in line with recent behaviour from Samsung so it’s possible that these rumours are on the money. We’ll have to wait for September or (far more likely) a more comprehensive leak before we know more.
