Samsung has a few more Galaxy Tabs on the way, with an announcement on 12 June

Madison Square Garden. A location known to sports entertainment wrestlers and British comedians alike, the New York venue is set to be taken over by Samsung in a little under a month when they make an announcement concerning their lineup of Galaxy Tab devices. Since they’re splashing out that sort of cash for the venue, it’s probably not a small announcement either.

The tagline for the event, which will take place on 12 June, is “Tab Into Color” and the smart money is on Samsung revealing a new high-end range of Galaxy Tab devices that incorporate AMOLED displays. One of these devices, the Galaxy Tab S, has already leaked it seems and if the specs from the original report are accurate, the high-spec display and internals are indeed a thing. But they’re not going to all this trouble for a single tablet.

If we use the Tab S’s specs as a baseline though, Samsung has some impressive hardware headed our way. The Tab S is supposed to have that AMOLED screen (with a 2,560 × 1,600 resolution), an octa-core Exynos processor and enough supporting hardware to make your notebook PC cringe in fear.

We’ll be keeping tabs on the event next month but you can also be present if you’d like. Ars Technica reports that Samsung will be live-streaming the launch on their YouTube channel on the day.
