Will Samsung’s answer to Google’s Glass be showing up in September?

Google’s Glass is gaining in popularity among the technologically-minded and it’s almost inevitable that Samsung and other major companies will be following suit. A new report out of Korea, which cited an anonymous Samsung source, claims that Samsung will be introducing a competitor to Google’s Glass later on this year.

A reveal for the apparent augmented reality glasses, which have been titled Gear Glass, is supposed to be set for September this year. The company is supposedly hoping to be showing off the device at the IFA 2014 conference in Germany during September, reports Business Korea.

The Gear Glass wearable will reportedly be a Tizen OS-based “…ear piece and display, enabling people to listen to music with the right ear while looking at the display with the right eye”.

Whether the report is accurate or not is something that Samsung doesn’t appear inclined to comment on just yet. We’re probably going to have to wait until closer to the reveal date before anything is confirmed one way or the other. We’ll keep you posted.
