Facebook marks ten years with a look back at the social network (for everyone)

Facebook has been around for ten years, officially. That’s right, the social network that used to be the upstart has just marked a decade in people’s lives and they’re marking the occasion by giving everyone a look back over at their activities on Facebook over the last ten years. Or however many years you’ve been posting images and statuses.

Engadget reports that this ‘look back’ (which only works if you’re logged into your Facebook account) takes the form of a video highlight reel, though when Stuff tried it we found that only a handful of recent images on a single page made the cut. That might have something to do with our Facebook privacy settings however and other users may well find that their most-Liked, interacted-with and other bits of unexpected online history jump out at them when they click the above link. Possibly in video format.

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg said in a post about the occasion “It’s been amazing to see how all of you have used our tools to build a real community. You’ve shared the happy moments and the painful ones. You’ve started new families, and kept spread out families connected. You’ve created new services and built small businesses. You’ve helped each other in so many ways.”
