Samsung is aiming at having their new flagship smartphone on the market by April this year, according to a Bloomberg report, and one of the features that might be making its way to consumers is iris scanning, a technology that Samsung hasn’t used on their devices to date.
The Galaxy S 5 will most likely look at least somewhat different to the two previous flagship smartphones in the series. Samsung seems to think that the similar appearance of the Galaxy S 3 and S 4 led to a lack of enthusiasm when the S 4 hit the market.
Also on the cards is a redesigned version of the Galaxy Gear smart watch, which will be slimmer and more advanced than their first effort.
Samsung Mobile executive vice president Lee Young Hee told Bloomberg in a recent interview “We’ve been announcing our first flagship model in the first half of each year, around March and April, and we are still targeting for release around that time.
“When we release our S5 device, you can also expect a Gear successor with more advanced functions, and the bulky design will also be improved.”
