Turning an iPhone into a BlackBerry with the Typo Case

Everyone loves their iPhone but sometimes there’s a hankering for something with a QWERTY keyboard. Apparently this is a larger problem than you’d expect but a company co-founded and partially funded by American Idol host Ryan Seacrest claims to have the answer to your keyboard cravings.

Called the Typo Keyboard, the idea is to add a full QWERTY keyboard to any iPhone 5 or 5 S just by adding a Bluetooth-enabled, chargeable two-part casing, negating the need to cart around a BlackBerry with your Apple-branded smartphone. The startup behind the idea believes that executives habitually carry around two phones for easier communication and this accessory should provide the means to ditch one of the two.

The Typo Keyboard is due to launch in January next year, with the company’s website accepting pre-orders for the add-on at the moment. The Typo Keyboard is also expected to put in an appearance at CES 2014 in Las Vegas next month. It is expected to launch first for Apple’s iPhone 5 and 5 S before becoming available for Android smartphones.
