Samsung rumoured to be working on a metal-bodied handset called the Galaxy F

It looks like Samsung is even busier than it appeared earlier this week, when news of a Samsung Galaxy handset featuring a curved display first pitched up. Korean website ETNews is reporting that Samsung has yet another device in the works and this one is a little off-centre for the company.

The apparent handset, being called the Galaxy F, is described as being a metal-bodied smartphone sporting the South Korean company’s Exynos 5 Octa processor. A flexible AMOLED display and 16MP camera – possibly with optical image stabilisation – are also claimed to be heading to the as-yet unconfirmed device, according to unspecified “industry sources”.

The camera and OIS features were apparently planned for the Galaxy Note 3 but a parts shortage seems to have delayed the shooter for a different device.

By the look of things, Samsung may be attempting to drop a ‘premium’ handset on users which will last a little longer than the current yearly smartphone cycle. Reports of a metal-bodied handset from the company aren’t new but they have yet to come to fruition. Perhaps this so-called Galaxy F will change all that.
