DStv finally adds Disney+ to its Streama box

If you’re one of the few that actually own a DStv Streama – whether by choice or because you have an older Hisense or Samsung TV, you’ll be excited to learn that Multichoice is finally bringing Disney+ content to its dedicated streaming box – nearly two months after its launch.

The Streama is finally on par with some of the country’s better Android TV boxes – and it only costs R200 more! The introduction of Disney+ puts the mouse’s offering alongside the DStv, Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and Showmax apps.

Still not on PlayStation or Xbox

“The DStv Streama upgrade demonstrates our commitment to giving our customers not only more value, more choices and more convenience, but a great viewing experience filled with all of their favourite content,” says Nyiko Shiburi, Multichoice SA CEO.

If you’re already a Multichoice customer with a newer Explora model, the Streama won’t be of much use to you. That’s because the service is already available on its software. If you’re on an older Explora – or any other decoder, really – then the Streama may be useful. Though, again, you’d probably be better off finding something a bit cheaper to suit your needs. You can also add a Disney+ subscription to your DStv bill, allowing you to save R50/m on the service.
