With the pandemic out of almost everyone’s mind, this holiday season is expecting a massive surge in overseas travellers. That’s why Vodacom has chosen now to launch deals on international roaming bundles to “keep customers connected globally”. And to make a few extra bucks before the holiday season shuts down.
Non-denominational season’s greetings
The network operator has begun offering 1GB and 5GB bundles, usable in over 200 countries. To get the 1GB bundle, all the operator needs is R100, and you’re set (for seven days). If you, like most people, use your phone for more than checking emails, the 5GB bundle might be the one. That’ll set you back R350 – also valid for seven days.
If minutes are crucial to your trip, the operator has ‘All For You’ bundles available. These are available to all prepaid, contract and top-up customers. Your (very limited) options are 1GB data with 100 minutes for R200 or 5GB data with 200 minutes for ‘only’ R550.

All these deals can be purchased before travelling on either the My Vodacom app or by dialling *135*130#. On My Vodacom, head over to the ‘My account’ tab and follow the prompts as they appear. If any of these are too difficult to pull off, you have the choice of calling (or visiting) the nearest Vodacom store.
