Mettlestate announces South African Fortnite All Stars Tournament with a R100 000 prize pool

Call up your Fortnite duos partner and prepare to take the country by storm. Mettlestate, Incredible Connection, and Asus have a new Fortnite tournament for South Africa. The prize pool? R100,000. The entry method? Via Mettlestate’s website.

Qualifiers will be played weekly on Thursdays. The top teams from each week’s qualifier round will advance to the playoffs. The teams that don’t qualify will be given the option to register again and take part in the following week’s qualifiers. This is a decent move on Mettlestate’s part since players have multiple chances at scoring a payday for playing video games.

Eye of the Fortnite storm

Mettlestate project manager Carly Twaddle said, “Last year, it was spectacular to see tech giants getting involved in esports. Now, Incredible Connection is taking it a step further. This partnership with Mettlestate is solidifying their stance as a force to be reckoned with in the South African gaming space. The Fortnite All Stars tournament is proving to gamers that Incredible Connection is in it for the long run, and this is just the beginning.”

Below is the official timeline for the tournament:

Registrations: 29 March – 7 April
Qualifiers: 7 April – 21 April
Playoffs: 25 April – 26 April
Finals: 30 April

Not interested in playing but still want to watch? No problem. The playoffs and finals will be streamed live on the Incredible Connection Twitch channel.

Fans can keep up to date with the tournament on Mettlestate’s website, or any one of the esports specialist’s social media pages.
