Razer, best known for its semi-decent, colourful PC peripherals, is attempting to diversify its offerings with the introduction of the company’s first internal PC components. The company recently held its second RazerCon where it showcased what it’s been working on and provided updates on older things, like the Zephyr N95 mask that sold out moments after it was available.
The slightly more exciting prospects come with the company’s first foray into internal PC components. For years the company has stuck to making PC and console peripherals usually adorned with the company’s Chroma RGB. That hasn’t changed with these latest products.
More control for your shineys
Razer knows how much you love RGB, if you didn’t you wouldn’t keep buying its Chroma products. The company also knows that it can be quite tricky to get the multitude of RGB products in your system, usually all from different manufacturers, to play nicely together. With the new addressable RGB controller you can kiss those problems goodbye. At least that’s the idea. It’s supposed to work universally with aRGB devices. You’ll get six aRGB headers to play with, but no PWM fan controller. You’ll still need to plug those into your motherboard.
Razer keeping its cool
Branching away from venomous critters, the Razer Hanbo, the company’s first All-In-One (AIO) cooler was developed with Asetek. It comes in 240mm and 360mm sizes and of course sports some of its own RGB on the CPU block.
A shiny powerup?
Sticking with the blade naming scheme, the Razer Katana is the company’s first power supply. They’ll come fully modular and with a Platinum power efficiency rating for the 750W and 1,200W units. The 1,600W unit has the Titanium rating, which means almost no power goes to waste. And, of course, all models will feature an aRGB fan, powered by Chroma. If you’re doing things right this will be facing out of your PC so what’s the point.
Rounding things up we have Razer’s own aRGB case fans. The Razer Kunai (they likes blades apparently) features 7 fan-blades and will come in 120mm and 140mm sizes with the usual RGB ring lighting and powered by, you guessed it, Chroma.
These products are first rolling out in the US soon and coming to the rest of the world later this year. Hopefully, the local pricing is will be kind to us, but we doubt it.
