DStv Heritage Day SABC SuperSport

DStv’s getting all kinds of interesting just lately. There are rumours of the company unbundling its offerings (kinda) to create a Flex option, it’s just launched internet access for subscribers and, for this Heritage Day weekend, the entertainment provider has opened up access to SuperSport to… well, everyone.

Okay, everyone with a DStv subscription, but that’s still a lot of people who normally wouldn’t have access to the likes of… well, all this:

DStv doing you a solid

See, Heritage Day is supposed to be all about celebrating South African culture. It just so happens that pretty much all of us count tanning meat as part of our culture — it’s mostly a question of differences in what’s going on the fire and what sort of side dishes there are. Beer… is mostly universal, unless you spend time at AA meetings.

So DStv’s opening up of a whole mess of channels (the full list is just below) — everything from SuperSport Blitz to ESPN 2 is on offer — for all levels of subscribers (from Access to Premium). There’s only one catch: You’ve got to stream the sports channels, either from now.dstv.com or via the company’s app.

There’s golf on this weekend, the Russian F1 Grand Prix, as well as local football in the shape of Orlando Pirates vs. Mamelodi Sundowns, plus some tennis and then a batch of other sport that we haven’t been begun to look at. If your Heritage Day plans included fires, meats and beers, it just got a little better.
