An electric Benz – It’s what Karl would’ve wanted
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the new concept for an electric version of the classic G-Wagen, the Concept EQG. While this concept is the first look we’ve had at the G-Class addition to the EQ range, it isn’t too much of a surprise. Back in 2018 when the newly redesigned G-Wagen was revealed, Daimler’s then-head Dieter Zetsche promised surprise guest Arnold Schwarzenegger that the G-Class would also be part of Mercedes’ EV plan.
From what we’ve seen, the EQG looks like it’ll fit right in with the EQ range while still retaining the newly-upgraded rugged charm of the G-Class. Mercedes has only shown off the outside of the vehicle so far and to sum it up in a word: lights. There are a lot of ’em. The front signature rings are present and are mimicked on the side mirrors. LEDs are used to create the illusion of a front grill and are integrated into the roof rack. Most of the technical aspects are still a mystery, but here’s what we know. The EQG will use the same frame as the regular G-Wagen. The battery pack will be integrated into the frame. The independent front suspension and solid rear axel will be carried over but will be modified to make room for the four electric motors, one at each wheel. This reveal means production shouldn’t be too far off unless the ever-present semiconductor shortage messes things up. And this is an EV, so it’s likely.

Dyson could help you clean your stairs
Dyson is behind those futuristic-looking devices you might have seen before. The devices that make you do a double-take when you first see them, then spend 5 minutes trying to figure out what they do. Well, now it could be working on a robot vacuum that can climb stairs while cleaning them in the process.
The figures from the patent application show a mechanical arm and a set of tri-star wheels on either side that will allow the vac to climb stairs, or at least that’s the idea. This is only a patent so far, so there’s no telling if this will even make it to the prototype phase. If anyone can do it, Dyson can.

Apple Watch Series 7 launch options
We recently reported that Apple might be facing some issues with the production of its new Watch Series 7 that will delay the launch of the device, but now it seems we might get an announcement after all. According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, out of the three potential outcomes for the Watch Series 7 launch, a launch with limited availability alongside the new iPhone seems the most likely. Apple’s other options are to delay the announcement of the watch until the problems are resolved or go ahead with the announcement, but only make it available at a later date.
We’re going with Gurman on this one, as it makes the most sense. Apple is going to want to get the new device onto people’s wrists as soon as possible so that they tell all their friends about it. Anything to keep the hype alive. Although, it’s an Apple product, so it doesn’t need much help to generate anticipation. Going off of past Apple events, we expect to see the new watch and phone sometime this month, possibly even next week.

Battlefield Mobile beta coming soon, but not here
We’ve known that EA is working on a standalone mobile version of the Battlefield franchise since April and that it’s planning for a 2022 release. That’s about all we’ve known until now. EA recently announced that it plans to start with a series of small beta tests in Indonesia and the Philippines for users with Android devices.
According to Engadget, the first test will only feature one map and game mode, Conquest on a map called Grand Bazaar. The publisher said it would share more details on other maps and modes closer to the 2022 launch. The company did confirm that it will be free to play and will feature cosmetic items much like the console and PC version of the game. Unlike the console and PC versions, the mobile version will not support cross-platform play as this version is “being built specially (sic) for mobile.”
