Vodacom now lets you buy Nando’s on credit

Nando's

It’s not every day you get to wake up to a headline like that. Vodacom has announced that customers can now make use of VodaLend Voucher Advance, a phrase with plenty of alliteration that basically just means you can buy food and appliances from certain brands on credit through Vodacom. There are only two brands that have signed up to be a part of the system right now and they include Hirsch’s and, you guessed it, Nando’s.

Why anyone would want to purchase Nando’s on credit is beyond us when you could the same thing at Mochachos and get yourself better chips. That’s right, we said it.

Vodacom is speaking very highly of a system that’ll mostly be used by folks desperate to make a cheeky Nando’s run with the lads. According to MyBroadbandVodacom described its VodaLend Vouch Advance as, “an innovative lending proposition and the first of its kind for South African consumers.”

So how does this all work? Well, if you head into the My Vodacom App, you’ll be able to find the “Vouchers” option under the “My Account” tab. From there you can purchase a voucher for Nando’s starting at R25. You could also grab a R250 voucher for Hirsch’s while you’re at it.

If you do choose to make use of one of these vouchers, you’ll have to pay Vodacom back what you owe in the space of a month. There’s no interest involved when you do pay it back and vouchers will remain valid for three years. Now that’s planning for dinner in advance.

In a statement, Executive Head of Lending at Vodacom Financial Services, Quintin Van Vuuren said, “Our primary focus is to deliver seamless and rewarding experiences for customers and vendors in a cost-efficient way.”

If you’re happy with your Nando’s platter, Vodacom also wants to help you play games with a Switch bundle it’s offering for R400pm.
