Not even two full weeks have passed since Google Stadia shut down its in-house game development studios, and now, in a community blog post, the company has announced that “more than 100” titles will be added to the gaming platform this year.

A few of the games that would be a part of the 100 were listed, including Fifa 21Killer Queen Black, and Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition. The blog post goes on to say that “these games represent just a sampling of the more than 100 games that will be added to the Stadia store for our players in 2021 to share, experience, and play with friends”.

Stadia’s sticking around

Stadia is clearly trying to reassure its player base that the platform is still in it for the long haul despite a less than perfect year-and-a-few-months since its launch in November 2019. The cloud-gaming service received pretty good to mixed reviews on release, and has slowly been improving itself. Its gotten good enough, in fact, for sites like Forbes and even Android Central to begin recommending the platform to players despite its lukewarm start.

Unfortunately this news is still kind of moot until Stadia comes to South Africa. When that might be, we still don’t know.
