Electric cars aren’t exactly the most exciting kind of car on the market. Sure, from the perspective that they’re still quite new and way better for the environment one could argue that they’re kinda exciting. We’d argue that makes them more… intriguing. Fascinating, if you will. When one pictures high-octane stunts, tire-spin and plenty of burnt rubber, stopping to charge your car for an hour doesn’t really pop to mind. That’s why this video of the new Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400 is so impressive. Just take 5 minutes to watch the video and you’ll understand exactly what we’re talking about.
The other 1400
When you envision a fully electric vehicle, you’ll more often than not think of a tiny box equipped with a steering wheel, four wheels and a roof if you’re lucky. They’re some cool looking EVs out there, don’t get us wrong, but for the most part they’re not the sort of car that makes you step back, palm clasped over you month in amazement. Ford’s Mustang Mach-E 1400 may be the first to cause such an effect because seeing it keep up with and outpace proper NASCAR vehicles and drift like a criminal in a high speed-pursuit is very impressive.
Pulling from the description of the YouTube video, the Mustang Mach-E 1400 has some crazy cool specifications, including “1,400 peak horsepower and more than 2,300 lb. of downforce”.
So when can you expect to get your hands on the monstrous vehicle? Well, probably never. If you do, it’ll be a long way off in the future. It’s a prototype vehicle Ford is using to show off the potential of electric vehicles. Still, just the fact that something like this could be achieved with only electrical prowess and zero fossil fuel consumption is WILD. Now if they can make it sound decent, then it really would be the perfect car.
