As counter-intuitive as it might seem to invest in a laptop right now, we can’t say that we’re not at least a little excited to see what Lenovo has in store for their next wave of gaming laptops.
Today, Lenovo announced the inclusion of Intel’s most advanced hardware, the new Legion series is sure to be pushing some serious heat, and we don’t just mean that in the metaphorical impressive way either.
We have a soft spot in our hearts for Lenovo’s range of gaming hardware. While they’re not really as flashy as some of the more eccentric brands out there, the Lenovo Legion is still an impressively powerful PC. And all that for a price that’s far more accessible than most others.
While Asus has been pushing their latest devices out there, proud of the dual screens and all the promises that come with a main monitor and a slightly smaller monitor, Lenovo has been quietly working away at the Legion and they’ve made some impressive progress.
Announced in a press release today, it was confirmed by Lenovo that the latest Legion will have the some of the most advanced hardware available for laptops. The Lenovo Legion 7i will feature an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super for its GPU and with a 10th Gen Intel Core H-Series processor, there isn’t a game under the sun that can’t be played on this powerful machine.
If you’re looking for something a little more affordable (and thus, less chunky) the Legion 5i offers the same 10th Gen Intel processor but a smaller GPU, specifically an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060, which is still more than what most gaming desktops are fitted with. Both the Legion 7i and 5i come with Nvidia G-Sync technology, meaning you can expect only the highest standards when it comes to your image quality.
While we’ve yet to hear about local pricing for the new Legion series, we can tell you that the Legion 5i will be retailing in the States for $1,000 while the Legion 7i will be going for $1,200. Let’s hope South Africa gets a shipment in because we’d love to get our hands on one of these and see how it holds up against Lenovo’s competitors.
