VodaPay will now be giving users 10% more on water and electricity

Clearly conscious that living in South Africa is frequently becoming more and more expensive, VodaPay wants to help out its customers, even if it’s just a little bit. And also only a little while.

No-one likes having to buy water and electricity. We might argue that these are the least exciting purchases you can make outside of a new sponge for the kitchen or a broom for general sweeping. They’re not only boring but they’re also becoming more and more expensive. This is why VodaPay has announced that throughout the month of March it’ll provide clients with 10% additional water and electricity whenever they pay using the VodaPay Masterpass app.

You don’t even need to be a Vodacom customer to use the VodaPay app. All you need is a valid bank card and a South African phone number. Whenever you purchase water or electricity using the app, you’ll get 10% of your spendings to add to your prepaid meter. If, for example, you spend R300 on electricity for the month, VodaPay will give you R30 extra to plug into your meter.

“Our aim is to provide customers with a seamless and frictionless one-channel experience, ensuring consistent, efficient and personalised customer engagement, across all touch-points. As a digital-first company, we made sure that the VodaPay Masterpass app is the digital channel of choice for paying bills,” says Mariam Cassim, Vodacom Financial Services Chief Officer.

All you need to do to capitalise on this offer is download the VodaPay app (available on both Android and iOS) and go about your purchasing. Sure, you’re not gonna be able to purchase a load of electricity for an extra R30 (or whatever it works out to be for you) but every little bit helps, right?
