Uber is giving away free rides for job seekers

Uber SA faces class action lawsuit

The ride-hailing app, Uber has partnered with a startup called Trusted Interns to give people looking for jobs more mobility. In other words, it’ll give unemployed people free rides to job interviews to the value of R10,000.

According to research done by Trusted Interns, January and February are the busiest times of the year for young people looking for employment. Through its #GiveTheYouthAChance campaign, Trusted Interns has secured free Uber vouchers for anyone travelling to job interviews. Neat, right?

Uber will also match the ride cap of R10,000 with another R10,000 through a Backabuddy campaign if contributors reach that amount. This means that the public can also contribute to the campaign on the Backabuddy page

To apply for a voucher, job seekers can create a profile on the Trusted Interns’ website — keep in mind that the trips are limited to UberGO and UberX. The free rides are available in all major South African cities. Now go and get that job, young padawan.
