Cell C is cutting the cost of subscribing to Black’s Binge Elite tier by 80% (for Black Friday)

We all know that, come next week, much of the country will be scrambling for a deal. The latest American transplant, Black Friday, kicks off on 23 November — a day when the brave go shopping and the smart stay home and buy online (and hope the servers stay up). Everyone’s going to be looking for a deal and Cell C hopes to give you one — the mobile service provider will be dropping the piece for streaming service Black’s Binge Elite tier by 80% for Black Friday, until year-end.

Cell C’s Black service has several pricing tiers but the Binge Elite is the big one, which allows users access to everything that Black provides. Normally this would cost you R449pm but Cell C’s offer will see users paying just R89pm (for a 12 month period) if they sign up for Binge Elite between 23 November and 31 December. After that, pricing will climb to normal levels again. Of course, that contract period ends right about the time of Black Friday 2019… just sayin’.

There is, as ever, a catch. But it’s not a very big one. Users who sign up for the promotional pricing and subsequently cancel, or miss a payment, before the contract period is up, will have to sign up again at the normal R449pm rate. That seems like a minor set of terms and conditions for a considerable saving. We’d take R1,068 over twelve months versus R5,388 over the same period any day.
