YouTuber Bearly Regal created the ultimate mashup with a very convincing Lego Fortnite: Battle Royale gameplay trailer. Seriously, we thought this was for reals and are kinda crushed that it’s not.
The video features all the prominent characters from the Battle Royale game, even a Lego version of the dreaded John Wick. Little Lego characters jump out of the batt(lego)bus, and land in an authentic Minecraft-esque model of Tilted Towers before gratuitous Lego-like violence occurs all over the place.
Interestingly enough, Bearly Regal was able to put together this crossover by using the sandbox construction title, Lego Worlds. For the uninitiated, the game allows players to build practically anything they can come up with using digital Lego. We are getting a Minecraft vibe here. Lego is just real-world Minecraft, after all, right?
Lego Fortnite is likely one of the best concepts to come out of Lego Worlds, but definitely check out the Lego Dark Souls crossover that surfaced online a couple of months ago, too. We would gladly trade in our Dark Souls Remastered for the Lego-flavoured version.
Despite being the work of an active imagination rather than real, this retro-and-bricky take on Epic Games’ multiplayer sandbox survival shooter looks amazingly playable. Now we’re just hoping this crosses the right developer’s social media feed…
While we’re waiting, the Fortnite update out this week will include Playground Mode, the free-play sandbox mode that gives players unlimited resources to practice in a relatively safe environment. Maybe someone will go ahead and build a massive Lego structure to send Epic Games a message?
