Do you have a bunch of money and a burning desire for wire-free virtual reality? Then HP’s Omen X Compact Desktop, due for launch overseas soon, could be the thing your heart is yearning for.
Announced back in June, the Omen X Compact Desktop had a few hiccups on its way to market — it was supposed to launch in July this year but it was delayed until this week. Hopefully you were quick off the mark when the rig was announced, though. It’s already listed as ‘out of stock’.
If the Omen X Compact Desktop sees the light of day here in South Africa it’ll likely be available the same way that MSI’s VR One gaming backpack is: To order. And you’re going to wind up paying for it. The machine starts at $2,500 (R34,000) and that’s before you add in the VR rig you’re buying this portable PC for. But first you’re going to have to wait until HP has it in stock again.
