Sure we had our suspicions but it’s not certain until there’s an official announcement. That’s how come we’re not going to be seeing Samsung’s Galaxy S8 at this year’s MWC. What we will be seeing, however, is the Huawei P10. The company has released a video teaser for their event, strongly hinting that we will be privy to some new camera tech for 2017.
Cameras are almost certain to be the focus of the Huawei P10 as, according to the video teaser, the device will “Change the way the world sees you”. The hash-tag, eyes in two shutter-like circles, and the sudden jump to colour indicates alterations on the way for their dual-camera arrangement. Perhaps they’re dropping that single black-and-white camera and putting something altogether different in its place.
We’ve already seen a lot of chatter about the upcoming flagship’s specs, with most rumoured components suggesting a beastly phone (which is just how we like ’em). Key specs being thrown around are a 5.5in 1,440 x 2,560 display, one of the company’s Kirin 960 octa-core processors, 4GB/64GB or 6GB/128GB RAM/storage options, and dual 12MP cameras with Leica tech.
Just what changes are in store, for both the Huawei P10 and the P10 Plus, will be seen at Huawei’s pre-MWC event, which will kick off on 26 February. Just like everyone else’s pre-event event. We’ll be keeping an eye on proceedings, as usual, so stick around.
