Watch the new OnePlus 3T being unboxed in the back of a fighter jet

There’s more than one way to unbox a phone but up till now we’d never seen anyone try to do it from the inside of a fighter jet. The OnePlus 3T gets that honour, if that’s the right term for it, thanks to a video sponsored by the company for the European launch of the new handset.

The company got one Jake Paul to do the unboxing while in the back of a jet, sourced from the Czech Republic, and Paul does his level best to tell people about the OnePlus 3T while the pilot makes life as difficult as possible. It’s one thing to take a phone out of its box, it’s another to try and describe its contents while you’re being whipped around the skies by someone in a fancy oxygen mask.

Paul is, obviously, being very nice to the OnePlus 3T since OnePlus is paying for his plane trip (and they have him strapped into an ejector seat) but the device actually sounds like a great proposition. On paper, anyway. A 5.5-inch handset with a Snapdragon 821, 6GB of RAM (which is going to be our next industry standard), 16MP rear and front cameras (the rear uses Sony’s IMX 298 sensor and the front has Samsung’s 3P8SP unit) and up to 128GB of storage are nothing to sneeze at. Especially if you’re holding the new phone in a metal bullet moving at high speed. Hopefully we’ll see more of this one soon.
