Stuff South Africa

Win a Netatmo Welcome with Stuff and iStore

There are times in your life when you’ll wish you had an extra pair of eyes. When you’re cooking an elaborate mail. When you’re at the beach (make of that what you will). When you’re trying to avoid being eaten by wildlife after your plane runs out of gas over a remote region of Africa. The Netatmo Welcome, the subject of this month’s giveaway, can’t help with any of that.

What it can help with is keeping an eye on your home while you’re away from it, letting you look in on your domicile remotes, while it recognises you and others. Facial recognition, don’t you know. Just think of it, your very first piece of smart home kit and it’s this smart? Sounds like a competition worth entering to us.

Camera & iPhone 6 HD-PRINT
Despite how awesome it would be, the iPhone is NOT included in this month’s giveaway.

You just fill in a form, answer a simple question (for a given value of ‘simple’) and wait till the entries are drawn. There are some restrictions, though. You need to be a South African resident, and you can’t work for Stuff or its advertisers. There are a couple of other items as well, which you can see below. Before we get to the forms and things though, it’s time to view the marketing material.

Wait, isn’t it about time for some marketing copy to make itself known? Why, yes. Yes, it is.

Netatmo Welcome does home security better thanks to revolutionary face recognition technology. When your family or staff pass in front of the camera, Welcome recognises them thanks to its revolutionary face recognition technology. Welcome sends the names of the people it sees directly to your smartphone, so you can be notified when your kids are home. The camera also alerts you when it sees a stranger. Welcome’s setup is straightforward: place the camera indoors, facing your entrance, plug it in and download the app.

Netatmo Welcome is available from iStores and www.myistore.co.za for R4 299.

Got all that? Good, now just familiarise yourself with the Terms and Conditions and then you’re set to pop on down to the entry form and get your entry in. Or, you know, don’t, but entering means that you agree to be bound by the Ts & Cs. It’s nothing too nasty, promise. The winner will be announced on 8 April, 2016. Around noon-ish.
