All the specs for the totally real Pepsi phone

We were heartbroken to find out that Pepsi would be releasing their own smartphone and we’re even more so now that it’s officially official. We’ve got specs and pictures and everything, including pricing and availability. The slightly good news is that this R2,800 (approximate) handset probably won’t launch anywhere outside China.

Pepsi PhoneThe Pepsi Phone P1 will actually arrive bearing a fairly good collection of specifications for a smartphone being helmed by a soda company. Though, we can’t help but wonder why on earth Pepsi wants to release their own smartphone in China.

The P1 will launch with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor (MT6592), 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage with space for a microSD. The dual-SIM phone will have Android 5.1 installed from the outset and there are a load of other features like LTE, a fingerprint sensor and a 13MP/5MP camera combination to look forward to. Again, that’s if you’re a resident of China. Still wondering what the heck Pepsi wants a phone for though…
