Will we be seeing Samsung’s Galaxy S7 at Unpacked 2016 in February?

We’ve heard a lot about the Samsung Galaxy S7 in the last month. There’s a chance of a Force Touch-like feature, a curved screen could be standard, and there could be a bunch of sound improvements on the way.

Part of that earlier speculation was a January announcement or reveal date, one which new information has pushed back. Oh, and we’ve got a possible date for Samsung’s Unpacked 2016 event in the process. Keep in mind that there’s no corroboration but we might be seeing Samsung’s Unpacked event happening on 21 February next year, just prior to Mobile World Congress.

On somewhat firmer ground, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 has had conflicting camera rumours for a while. They were reportedly looking at incorporating Sony’s 23MP IMX300 sensor from the Xperia Z5 but there is also talk of Samsung’s own 20MP sensor making the grade. If Samsung’s 20MP kit is used, we can expect RAW support as well as the same Pro mode found in the Galaxy S6 Edge+ handset. Sounds pretty good to us, either way.
