Meet Gentle, LG’s newest Android 5.0 flip-phone

When was the last time that you, personally, saw someone using a flip-phone? Ages, right? It’s been a long time since 2008 but flip-phones are in the midst of a limited comeback – provided you either battle with tech or you use the device ironically.

LG GentleOlder users, especially in Korea and China, are fonder of flip-phones than you might think (none of that stuffing about with touchscreens) and it’s for them that LG have released a new Android 5.1-capable flipper called the Gentle.

The rest of the specs are about what you’d expect from what is almost an archaic form factor – the display is a 3.2-inch , 480 x 320 dinky little thing, there’s a 1.1GHz processor inside the Gentle, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, microSD support, LTE and a 1,700mAh battery to round things out. By the look of things, there’s no camera at all. That would make a nice change.

The phone is expected to run users in South Korea the local equivalent of R2,200. There are no details on whether it’ll be found outside that country but we’d totally give one of these a go. Just sayin’, LG…  it speaks to our inner hipster.
