GoPro makes action cams even easier to lose with the Session

GoPro has taken the wraps off a new action camera and before you ask, no there is no info on when it will be available in South Africa just yet.

But you’re going to want to get your hands on the new GoPro Hero4 Session, the company’s take on a severely compact camera. It’s about half the size of the standard Hero4 models, and lighter to boot, but it features the same video functions. So if you’re married to your current model, you won’t be losing out but if you’d like a more versatile action chronicler, you’re now sorted.

The Session will still capture 1080p video at 60fps, 1440p at 30fps and 720p at 100fps, with Bluetooth and WiFi built in. 8MP stills are also still an option. Its new design means that the Session is waterproof up to 10 metres without needing an extra housing and it’ll fit existing GoPro mounts. The company has also built it to take a knock or four.

The Hero4 Session is set to release in two versions, with the only difference being a surfboard mount setup for the Surf edition as opposed to a stock attachment for the Standard edition. The only pricing we have at the moment is American, it’ll set you back $400 (R5,000) not including delivery.
