Samsung’s super-thin Galaxy A8 has leaked

Samsung’s been slimming down their phones for a while but the newest leak, if accurate, points towards the thinnest Samsung handset to date – the 5.9mm thick Galaxy A8. The skinny phone was spotted by French website Nowhereelse.fr, which saw it in the flesh. As it were.

Galaxy A8 LeakGo on, check that dimension with a ruler if you happen to have one handy. Not very bulky at all, is it? It’s still not the thinnest handset on the market though, that accolade belongs to Oppo’s R5 handset which measures just 4.8mm through the middle. But Oppo’s phone doesn’t feature a headphone jack, something that Samsung have not neglected with the A8.

They’ve also opted to not neglect the rest of the specs. The Galaxy A8 is said to feature a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display (HD), Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 and 2GB of RAM. 16GB of storage, a 16MP rear/5MP front camera combo and a 3,050mAh battery are also supposed to be part of the package.

Samsung hasn’t made the phone official yet, so we’re not sure when and where it’s going to appear. Pricing will probably also show up closer to the official launch of the handset.
