LG G4 is on the way with a whole new line of phones also in the works

LG may not have shown off any high-end smartphones at MWC 2015, but its CEO Juno Cho has been dropping a few hints about its next crop.

First up is a follow up to the LG G3, which he says will be very different to its predecessor. The company is overhauling the phone’s design as well as making big changes to the UX – in fact, so big is the change in UX that the software will be unveiled before the actual handset.

LG G3 Header“We will announce LG UX 4.0 before announcing the LG G4,” Cho said. “I think it is simply the best and the issue is how to best fit the new UX system into the G4 smartphone.” We’ll be the judge of whether or not it is better than all the rest when LG gives us a good look at it.

SNAPPING AT SNAPDRAGON

Also in the works over at LG HQ is a new range of smartphones using the company’s own in-house processors. LG is trying to get away from the near-ubiquitous Qualcomm Snapdragon range but still has a few problems to overcome – “We do have a lot of issues that need to be addressed, but second- and third-generation processors will be much better,” apparently.

We’re hoping to see the LG G4 within a couple of months – something tells us there’ll be a longer wait for these new LG-chip-toting handsets.
