Samsung adds Galaxy A7 to premium all-metal range

Samsung recently unveiled a new line of premium all-metal Galaxy smartphones – the A3 and A5 – and now it’s added to its roster with the Galaxy A7, which packs in more powerful specs.

Samsung_GalaxyA7The Galaxy A7 packs a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon with dual 1.8GHz and 1.3GHz quad-core processors, along with a 5.5in Super AMOLED screen, 2GB of RAM, 16GB on onboard storage with microSD support of up to 64GB, and a 2600mAh battery.

A 13-megapixel camera adorns the back while a 5MP front-facing camera should take care of sharp selfies. Samsung has also included ‘Ultra Wide Shot’ and ‘Auto Selfie’ modes, the latter of which requres just a voice command or a wave of the hand to take a picture.

The usual spate of connectivity options feature as well, including 4G LTE, Bluetooth and NFC.

All of this in a body just 6.3mm – and a premium all-metal unibody, come to that. It’s a welcome change to the plastic Galaxy smartphones of old, and points to a promising future for the Galaxy S6 flagship.

While it lacks flagship specs like a 2K screen or Snapdragon 810 processor, it’s at the higher end of the mid-range selection. Samsung has yet to confirm pricing and availability, but you can rest assured we’ll update you as soon as we know.
