Ferrari’s FXX K – Look upon my works, ye Mighty, and despair (at the price)

Ferrari makes some cool cars, you can’t argue with that at all. But they’ve also got a set of cars that are made exclusively for people who have a fanatical devotion to the Italian brand and a whole lot of money on hand. That’d be Ferrari’s XX initiative, in which the company more or less leases bonkers prototypes to dedicated drivers. They’re designed to be used on the track, for the most part, and Ferrari hangs onto them when they’re not in use.

Ferrari FXX KAnd Ferrari is set to unveil a new XX vehicle in the FXX K, which is a modification of their LaFerrari.

The FXX K, which is going to have the shroud taken off at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi soon, combins a V12 engine with an electrically-powered motor for a total of 1,035 horsepower. We’ll know more about its specs and performance when it finally gets its day on the track but then there’s the price to consider.

The aphorism “If you need to ask how much it costs, you can’t afford it” definitely applies here. Since the standard LaFerrari will set you back more than R13 million, we expect that the FXX K is going to cost a bit more than that. Exactly what it’ll cost is a secret, Ferrari isn’t saying. We wonder why.
