Take a stroll through South Park, courtesy of an Oculus Rift experiment

One of the great things (amongst many) about The Stick of Truth was that we could really get to see how the town of South Park looked, if from a 2D perspective.

Luckily the game gave the folks at Tool a jolt of inspiration, and they decided to create a virtual reality experiment that allows Oculus Rift users to take a romp through the iconic town.

According to Tool, “We started with three goals in mind for the experiment. One, from a tech point of view, to sharpen our Unity and Oculus Rift development skills-two, from a creative point of view, to reimagine a well known story by allowing the user to experience it in the first person and-three, to finish the project in time to share with our friends at the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival.”

If you don’t have a Rift on you, don’t fret, you can still take your own stroll through South Park on your browser, as long as you have Unity installed.

You can access the experiment on Tools’ site, which you can find here.
