iOS 8 users will get added privacy features, just for updating

It is no secret that privacy in today’s connected world has almost become a cliché topic, but it certainly seems that it still on people’s minds.

During iOS 8’s reveal, nothing was said about a certain feature the OS will have that will allow its users some extra privacy they might not know they needed.

According to Frederic Jacobs, iOS 8 will start randomising its MAC address whilst it is scanning for WiFi products, which in short means that iOS 8 devices will effectively be invisible on WiFi networks that may log device addresses for whatever reason, say certain retailers in America.

If anything, the upcoming feature is a great stride towards internet privacy by Apple, and gives us hope that at least one corporation doesn’t want to know what we had for lunch today.
