Netflix expanding its European reach to France, Germany, Switzerland and other countries

Netflix is improving its reach in Europe, according to the company, with plans afoot to expand to France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium. The six additional countries will be covered by the end of the year, increasing the streaming service’s coverage over the region.

Netflix has previously launched in the UK, Ireland, Finland, Denmark and Norway.

While the company has a presence over in Europe, most of their money is made in the North American market. Netflix has also got its share of subscribers in places that don’t, strictly speaking, have access to the video service in any official capacity (South Africa comes to mind).

We’re far more hopeful than certain but increased Netflix coverage in Europe should lead to other countries coming under consideration in future, like Australia and (possibly) South Africa.
