Samsung to unveil new camera at April media event

Samsung has something new on the horizon (again) and while they’re being all tight-lipped and mysterious about the event that will reveal all, it looks as though the cat is already out of the bag. The company announced a Singapore media event on 29 April that will allow folks to “Kapture the moment”, which seems to point towards a new camera being announced by Samsung.

While Samsung’s Twitter revealing of the event was striving for mysterious the details of the camera appear to have leaked, though the South Korean company hasn’t confirmed whether the specs and updated naming convention that have showed up online are accurate.

Several reports are claiming that the camera will be known as the Galaxy K Zoom, hence the misspelling in the graphic above. Specs for the Android-based camera, which looks related to the Galaxy S 4 Zoom, have also made themselves known and we’re told to expect a 20MP sensor, 10x optical zoom and a xenon flash on an Android 4.4.2-based camera which features a 4.8-inch, 720p touchscreen display and a 1.6GHz quad-core processor.

Other hardware possibilities include a six-core Samsung made processor, LTE access, and 2GB of system memory. These are just the rumours however, we’ll have to wait till month-end for the real details.
