Samsung’s Galaxy S 5 Mini specs leak, may appear in June

That Samsung has got a Mini version of the Galaxy S 5 isn’t a surprise but the South Korean company hasn’t been forthcoming about it yet. Still, a collection of specs have been leaked to SamMobile, a website dedicated to the company’s mobile devices that are purported to be for the Galaxy S 5 Mini.

Partial specifications for the display, processor, camera and a few others have become available, pointing to a smaller device that doesn’t quite measure up to the example Sony set with the Xperia Z1 Compact. The Galaxy S 5 Mini is said to have a 4.5-inch 720p display, an improvement over the teeny version of the S4, and will be packing a Snapdragon processor. Which one isn’t known but speculation is running towards the Snapdragon 400 quad-core chip.

Storage and RAM are expected to be 16GB and 1.5GB respectively and the S 5 Mini will also apparently have an 8MP and 2MP camera (rear and front). A 2,100mAh battery is also thought to be part of the package and, like the full-sized Galaxy S 5, it should be IP67 rated so it should do just fine in the wet.

As for when we’ll see it, Samsung hasn’t said anything but it’s expected to show its face some time in June this year.
