We can’t say that this was unexpected, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V has sold more than 32.5 million copies of the game across its various platforms to date.
According to Rockstar’s parent company Take Two Interactive’s financial earnings press release, “Grand Theft Auto V finished as the best-selling video game of 2013.” This claim is apparently by way of the NPD, which tracks gaming sales among other market-related research in the States.
If the anticipated PC release of the best-selling title lands soon, odds are very good that the sales number will be climbing in the near future. Grand Theft Auto V was only released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, so hitting the numbers it already has is quite the achievement (unlocked).
