Technology Eagle is watching you videotape

First off, you might want to turn the sound down on the video above. Footage of a bird of prey stealing a (working) video camera from a crocodile nest isn’t something that you’re going to see every day but this Friday you’re in luck. A sea eagle in the Kimberley’s Margaret River area of Australia stole a camera that was set up to record saltwater crocodiles in that location, hauling it off to its nest and then peering into the lens trying to find out what it consisted of.

The camera was originally thought to be lost to the water, until the camera was located 100 kilometers from its starting point and returned to the Gooniyandi Indigenous Rangers who had set is up in the first place. They were surprised and impressed by the footage that they found – and that the camera was found at all.
