Hyundai to launch hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicle in 2014

South Korean vehicle manufacturer Hyundai will be releasing a car next year that will run on hydrogen fuel cells, claims an Associated Press report.

The vehicle, destined for launch in the US, will be a Tuscon SUV and it will be the first commercially available car of its type to become available in that country.

More details regarding the hydrogen-powered Hyundai Tuscon are expected to become available at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this week but the car will feature electric motors powered by hydrogen cells and will launch first in Southern California before spreading around the States as recharging stations are built.

Also at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Honda is expected to unveil a concept hydrogen fuel cell vehicle while Toyota is set to do the same at the Tokyo Motor Show, according to the report.
