Samsung has been busy. At an event in Seoul yesterday, mostly dedicated to the Galaxy Gear and the Galaxy Note 3 products, Samsung said that a smartphone with a curved display will be making an appearance next month.
The South Korean company has designs on “introduc[ing] a curved display smartphone in October”, though they were mum about other details of the device. Whether this is a launch date or just an unveiling is also unknown.
There some speculation as to what Samsung has in mind for the unnamed smartphone. The company detailed a concept earlier this year where a display was curved around the sides of a handset, with the prototype using the new space to display notifications. There’s no confirmation that this concept will become reality so we’re stuck waiting either for a leak about the device or the official announcement.
