Neotel rolls out LTE in Gauteng

Neotel has joined the LTE race, in Gauteng initially, with its newly-announced ‘NeoBroadband powered by LTE’ service, which the company claims is unique because it is “…deployed in the uncluttered 1800 MHz band spectrum and optimised for Internet and data solutions”.

Neotel will be offering uncapped and unshaped download speeds for 2Mbps, 5Mbps and 10Mbps, according to the company’s press release, with the 10-meg option costing users a whopping R2899 per month. The 2Mbps option will ding users R1000 each month with the 5Mbps sitting in the middle. The current packages are being aimed at small to medium businesses who don’t requires Neotel’s 100Mbps over fiber option.

Neotel MD and CEO Sunil Joshi said in a statement “The NeoBroadband powered by LTE brings business grade high speed LTE for the small and medium sized as well as large businesses. Neotel is using its LTE network to deliver efficient, stable, low contention, unshaped and uncapped internet to its business and retail customers as well as for last mile requirements. By using fixed wireless deployment Neotel can optimise the number of connections to each tower thereby delivering better speeds, consistent user experience and minimal disruptions”
