Pac-Man remade as a survival-horror FPS

Imagine taking on Inky, Blinky, Pinky and Clyde in a corridor shooter environment. Only, instead of using guns, gaming legend Pac-Man still needs to hoover up those special pellets to avoid death at the hands of the ghosts. Yes, it is as cool as it sounds, all thanks to freelance game developer Tom Davies.

Davies has remade classic arcade title Pac-Man from a first-person perspective and the game does a good job as setting the tone for the survival-horror remake it has turned out to be. Tense music starts, dark maze walls rise out, glowing orbs line the paths and huge ghosts are out there, waiting for the ill-fated munch of that first glowing orb. With the top-down view taken away, players don’t know where the ghosts are at any given moment, so it adds an extra jolt of fear on turning a corner and coming face to face with a huge pink ghost.

FPS-Man is free to play on Kongregate, though players will need a fairly decent internet connection and the Unity Web Player installed.
