Samsung announces new Galaxy lineup

Samsung’s event in London yesterday saw the reveal of several new Galaxy and Ativ products, as was expected based on the company’s teaser invitation. Several of the announcements, mostly from the Galaxy range, had already been revealed by the South Korean company in the run-up to the event.

The previously-seen devices included the rugged Galaxy S4 Active, the Galaxy S4 Zoom camera handset and the Galaxy S 4 mini. While the devices were announced previously they were seen in action at Samsung’s London event. A new camera was added to the Galaxy lineup, the Android-wielding mirrorless Galaxy NX.

The interchangeable-lens Galaxy NX will ship with 3G and LTE access, as well as WiFi connectivity, thanks to the Android 4.2.2 OS that will be taking care of its functions. It features a 20.3 megapixel APS-C sensor, 1.6GHz quad-core CPU and 4.8-inch display with an interface that should be very familiar to anyone who has used an Android device in the past. Pricing and availability were not announced but the UK will be getting the camera first, it seems.
