Galaxy S 4 sells 10 million units in its first month

Samsung’s Galaxy S 4 is off to a flying start, with the company boasting that their new flagship smartphone has broken the 10 million units sold globally milestone in its first month on sale. According to the company the device has been averaged four sales per second, making it Samsung’s fastest-selling smartphone so far.

Since the phone launched on 27 April this year and the milestone announcement came today, sales of the Galaxy S 4 have taken less then a month to reach the magic number. Reaching that total is coming easier for Samsung these days too, the S 3 took 50 days to reach 10 million, the S 2 waited five months and the Galaxy S took seven months to reach 10 million sold.

Samsung’s co-CEO JK Shin said in a statement “On behalf of Samsung, I would like to thank the millions of customers around the world who have chosen the Samsung GALAXY S4. At Samsung we’ll continue to pursue innovation inspired by and for people.”
