Nokia adds LiveSight sight recognition to Here Maps

Nokia has released an update for Here Maps on Windows 8 that adds a feature called LiveSight to the app.

LiveSight lets users, at the touch of a button in the Here Maps app, scan the surrounding area and pull up a variety of information concerning their location. Photos, store information, reviews and addresses are part of this info and users can interact with the data that is returned based on what their Nokia handset is pointed at.

Engadget reports that the app update will have a function similar to that found on Nokia’s City Lens app in the form of offline availability. Though the Windows Phone 8 update from Nokia is now available from the Windows Phone app store, it isn’t immediately clear whether local users will find much use for the feature just yet.

Below is a video from Nokia detailing what LiveSight is capable of.
