Cell C drops contract data prices for the next three months

Cell C has announced a new data pricing promotion that will run from today, 9 April, until the end of June 2013. The pricing drops the cost per GB on Cell C’s network by more than half, with a 500MB monthly contract payment falling from R109 to R39, 1GB from R155 to R69 and 2GB from R310 to R99.

Cell C’s CEO Alan Knott-Craig said in a statement “Cell C has always provided customers with the best data propositions and is determined to continue offering the best value products available to data users in the South African mobile market. We already offer the best out of bundle rate, and coupled with these price cuts, we know customers will be pleased.”

“With these new rates, we are telling our customers that Cell C is willing to compete to provide the best offerings on the market. There is no out of bundle shock, because all these new rates have the same out of bundle rate of 15c, the best available on the market.”
