Apple is reportedly planning to release the expected iPhone 5 S around August this year while a new iPad may issue forth from the company as early as April.
A report from iMore, citing sources “familiar with the plans”, claims that Apple is targeting August for the release of an updated iPhone 5, saying that the iPhone 5 S will feature the same design but will add an improved processor and camera. The report also claims that “an April-ish launch is getting serious consideration for the next-generation iPads” but details on a new iPad or iPad Mini release at that time are tough to corroborate at the moment.
The iPhone 5 S information has a good chance of being correct however, more or less lining up with recent analyst predictions that say that Apple will announce the 5 S, as well as a low-cost iPhone, in June this year with a July release being expected. The prediction, from KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, stems from Apple apparently wanting to “avoid repeating the fatal mistake of last year of the delayed iPhone 5 launch, which gave competitors room to grab market share.”
