FNB’s Banking App now open to all eWallet users

First National Bank has been very keen on their mobile technology just lately and they’re taking it a step further with their Banking App.

FNB announced today that their Banking App will now also be open to non-FNB customers with the addition of eWallet support from within the app. eWallet allows users to either send money from a First National Bank transactional account to any South African cellphone number or users can deposit funds for transaction into an eWallet at participating retailers.

FNB eWallet CEO Yolande van Wyk said in a statement that new and current eWallet users, whether they are FNB customers or not, will find that FNB’s revamped Banking App features a “…user interface [that] offers a much improved experience for eWallet users who have a smartphone or tablet device.”

First National Bank has explicitly said that this move is part of a drive to add non-FNB customers to the more than 400,000 people who are already using the app.
